Bob Fredrick - Paulsboro
Bob Fredrick served 18 years as Head Coach of Paulsboro High School where his teams notched a record of 299-7-2. His teams had 14 undefeated seasons earning a Number 1 ranking in New Jersey on 4 seperate occasions; nine time selected the #1 team in South Jersey. During the streak of undefeated seasons Bob's teams the New Jersey record of consecutive wins with 84 in a row only to surpass that with a 96 win streak.Other accomplishments include 16 Colonial Conference Championships,14 District Team Titles and a National JV win streak. Coach Fredrick's teams crowned 77 District Champions,41 Regional Champs and 5 State Champions,these statistics become more impressive when you consider that Paulsboro is a Group One School,the smallest size school in NJ. A former President of the NJWCA, Bob devoted his time to wrestling as the State Tournament Director helping to make it one of the best in the USA.
Mike DiPiano - St. Benedicts Prep
Mike Dipiano coached wrestling at St. Benedict's Prep for 20 years in which time he produced some outstanding teams and individual wrestlers despite the fact that they came to St.Benedict's with limited wrestling background. His teams have earned 275 victories which included seven sectional titles and five State Championships. Mike has on an individual basis coached 40 District,10 Regional,2 NJSIAA State Champions plus 20 Prep School State Champions and one National Champion. During his coaching career Mike encountered seious health problems which resulted in a multi-organ transplant. His positive attitude during this illness was inspiring to his team and St. Benedict's recognized him as an Honorary Alumnus and Inducted him into their Hall of Fame. Today Mike enjoys watching his sons coach on the High School level at St.Benedict's and Nutley.
