Robert Dalling Sr. - Blair Academy
Bob Dalling is one of the founding fathers of NJ wrestling. The 1929 Captain of Blair Academy he won Eastern Championships for Lehigh University in 1932 & 1933 at 126 lbs. While at Lehigh he also served as a coach at Blair three days a week traveling two hours each way on the old country roads between Blair and Lehigh. At Blair he led their wrestling program for 32 of his 42 years there. He started coaching when Calvin Coolidge was President and retire after a Depression and three Wars during the Nixon Presidency. His 1933 team had a 23 win undefeated streak and was considered the Best in the Garden State. Known for his unwavering devotion to his wrestlers and strict discipline his wrestlers won 8 Prep Titles and 28 placewinners in the National Prep Championships. He is honored today at that Tournament with an award in his memory for the most falls in the tournament.
C.Norman Winter - Piscataway
Norm had the honor of wrestling for Hall of Fame coaches, Walter Shallcross at Union H.S. and Dick Voliva at Rutgers. While at Rutgers he was awarded the Caan Award for dedication to the team and sport. After college Norm stayed in Piscataway coaching wrestling at the high school and put that school on the wrestling map. His teams never had a losing season while recording championships in 27 team events including 4 Middlesex County,11 District, 10 Mid-State Conference titles while gaining Top 20 honors ten times. His individual wrestlers won 90 district,13 Region and 3 State Championships.
