Bob Mizerek - Rutgers University-Newark

Bob started his wrestling career at Bound Brook HS under Hall of Famer Mike Schibanoff. After placing 2nd at 115lbs in the State tournament Bob went to Montclair State which had dropped their wrestling program. Bob with a group of wrestlers got the program reinstated and he went undefeated winning a Metropolitan Conference Championship. After college,Bob took on the coaching reins at the Newark campus of Rutgers University. Inspite of being a small NCAA D-3 school with no scholarships he turned the program around having a 10-2 record in his 2nd year and winning the Metropolitan Team Title,that with a team that was winless the year before he took over. Bob coached for 21 years and only had one losing season,his overall record was 189-69 four team championships and eight All-Americans. Mizerek was twice named Metropolitan Coach of the Year. In addition to wrestling Bob was the Men's Tennis Coach from 1962-99 and the Women's Tennis Coach from 1982-99. His 1982 Women's team went undefeated and his Men's Team had five undefeated years while winning seven Conference and two NAIA Championships.

Judge Julio M. Fuentes - Toms River

Born in Puerto Rico and raised on a chicken farm in Lakehurst our Outstanding American Award winner could have never dreamed that one day he would reach the position of Judge of the 3rd United States Circuit Court of Appeals, one step from the US Supreme Court. At Toms River under Hall of Fame Coach John Nemetz,Julio excelled in wrestling and in 1964 was undefeated until losing a close battle in the State Finals. His overall career record was 32-3 at Toms River. After graduation he attended Southern Illinois University and in 1975 recieved his J.D. from the State University of New York. After two Masters Degrees from NYU and Rutgers he opened his Law Firm , Fuentes,Plant,and Valazquez in Newark. The first Hispanic to be appointed to the Circuit Court he is one of a dozen Judges that hear appeals from NJ,Pennsylvania,Delaware and the Virgin Islands.
