Barry Burtnett - Rider University
Barry began his wrestling career in Pennsylvannia wrestling at Bedford HS and Lock Haven University. In 1961 he started the program at Dormant HS and in 1963 his team notched a 14-2 record. His next stop would be Mechanicsburg HS where in 5 years his teams would go 50-17-1. At Mecanisburg he would start a Youth Wrestling program as well as an Athletic Training Program. Barry's next task would bring him to Rider University where he would start a Division One wrestling program. Nine Years later his teams had compiled a 94-34 record while establishing itself on the D-1 level. In 1972-73 his team would win the MAC team championship the first conference championship in Rider history. He would top that the next year when Rider would go undefeated with a 15-0-1 record. While at Rider Barry would develop and direct the Sports Medicine programinstitute the Athletic Tainer's program and coach the Hamilton Township YMCA wrestling program as well as the township PAL wrestling team. Barry has retired to Florida but still stays active at the Villages running tournaments for the local high schoolm and the USA wrestling program.
William 'Bucky' Rehain - Pascack Hills
After a hall of fame baseball career at Ramsey HS and Montclair State College, Bucky got his first taste of wrestling at Kearney HS in 1964 where he would get a Physical Education job as long as he would take on the wrestling program. Using all of his coaching skills this future Hall of Famer would go 9-4 with his 1st year team. When in 1965 a position would open at Pascack Hills HS for a football & wrestling coach, Bucky would move closer to home, when the smoke cleared 30 years later his team record would be 456-98-1. His teams won 21 League,20 District,10 County and 5 State Sectional Championships. He would crown 120 District,56 Region and 12 State Champions which included two State Outstanding Wrestler Award winners in Tom Husted and Brian Wells. Bucky would also see his State Champion,Dr. Chris Catalfo compete on the 1984 Olympic Team. He would also coach his baseball teams to 6 State Section and 2 State Group Championships in ten years and in 2009 he would pitch the Livingston Dodgers to the over 60 division World Series Championship at the Roy Hobbs World Series in Fort Myers,Florida. Bucky has been awarded numerous coaching awards including Region and County Coach of the Year- 5 times, NJ Coach of the Year -1977,and National Coach of the Year in 1977 & 1984. Bucky's last coaching position was as an Assistant Coach at Northern Highlands HS where he coached his grandson.
