Jan Dutt - Phillipsburg

Jan Dutt wrestled for Manheim Central High School and East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania where he was Captain of ESU's undefeated 1967 team. Undefeated in dual meets he last two years he also won the ESU Open, Wilkes Open and the Coast Guard Invitational. After college he was the head coach at Manheim for three years notching a 39-3 record before taking over the same position at Phillipsburg HS in New Jersey. Ten years later Phillipsburg under Dutt would go 132-25 winning 10 District Team Championships and was ranked in NJ's top five nine times. Individually his wrestlers would win 5 State Championships,31 Region and 61 District titles. In addition to coaching Jan would become a highly respected official on the college level working both the EIWA and NCAA D-1 Championships. Jan had the ability to intergrate his philosophy of teaching and coaching in a positive mode to inculate in his students/wrestlers to strive for improvement while learning from one's mistakes.

Fred Pierro - Seton Hall Prep , North Hunterdon HS

Fred wrestled in high school at St.Benedict's Prep for Hall of Fame Coach,John Allen who considered Fred an extraordinary competitor. A NJ Prep State Champion as a senior Fred would continue his education at Seton Hall University. While at Seton Hall he would take on the duties of Head Coach of Seton Hall Prep from 1963-75. He would move to North Hunterdon High School in 1976 where he would remain for the next 20 years as Head Coach. His teams there would record a 179-95-3 record while winning 12 Holiday,11 District, 3 State Sectional and 2 State Group Team Championships. In on 12 year period, his teams ranked in the top fifteen in NJ placing second in the polls in 1973,1982 and 1983. His wrestlers were just as impressive on an individual level winnig 78 Holiday, 99 District,20 Region and four State Championships. A true gentleman of the sport of wrestling Fred Pierro has earned the respect of the entire wrestling community and his example of sportsmanship,dedication and commitment to wrestling is second to none.
