Stan Woods
After graduating from East Stroudsburg College Stan would coach at Randolph High School for five years before taking over the reigns at Emerson HS where he would coach for forty three plus years recording a State Record 607 wins. Emerson would combine with Park Ridge to form a co-op program during his tenure. Stan's teams would win 31 league titles, eight State Group One Sectional championships and ten Bergen County Group 1&2 County titles. They would notch Tournament championships all over NJ winning in Kearney, Lenape Valley, Princeton, Parsippany and Lakeland during his career. Woods held the NJWCA positions of Region President from 1976-81 and State Executive President from 1982-85. A five time Bergen County Coach of the Year Coach Woods was selected District (5 times),Region (3 times) and State Coach of the Year. In 1995 Stan was selected the Harry E. Lake Award and in 2007 he would win the Wilfred Caan Award for Coach of the Year in NJ.
Ron Fox
A sports writer who specializes in the sport of wrestling Ron Fox is a journalist who the world of high school wrestling owes a huge debt. Fox started at the Ridgewood News and after seven years he would move to the Bergen Record where he would stay for the next 26 years covering football, wrestling and baseball. He served on the NJSIAA Executive Committee for fifteen years; created the format for the All-Suburban Wrestling teams and was a member of the nominating committee for the New Jersey Sports Hall of Fame for ten years. The author of Wrestling Basics, a Prentice Hall publication in 1986 gave spectators the needed foundations to understand the basics of the sport. Ron Fox was inducted to both the Region 2 & 4 Wrestling Halls of Fame and in 1997 was selected New Jersey Sportswriter of the Year. Ron also received from the BCCA the William Powley Service Award, the highest Award given by that Association for wrestling.
