Joseph Krufka - Hanover Park & FDU-Madison
Joe Krufka started wrestling at Plymouth HS in Pennsylvania. After High School he entered the Navy and qualified for the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. Wrestling in college at Penn State for Hall of Fame Coach, Charlie Speidel Joe won many honors including: Four Wilkes Open Championships, Rhode Island and New England AAU Titles, as well as two runnerup medals in the Eastern Intercollegiate Tournament. He twice earned All-American Honors at the NCAA's placing 2nd and 3rd losing both times to legendary wrestler,Danny Hodge. After college Joe started the wrestling programs at Hanover Park and later at Fairleigh Dickenson University- Madison Campus. Working as a State level official he found time to start the Morris County Novice Tournament. Joe is a member of the FDU Wall of Fame,NE Pennsylvania Hall of Fame And the Morris County Hall of Fame and was awarded the Penn State Distinguished Alumni Award.
Anthony Gentile Sr.- Paulsboro
Tony Gentile started his career at Paulsboro HS winning a State Championship in 1957 after reaching the finals the year before. After High School Tony enlisted in the Army and continued wrestling winning his Regiment Championship. After the Army he returned home wrestling and officiating on the AAU level for five years. In 1964 Tony took over the Paulsboro Junior Wrestling Program a post he held till 1978. His teams won 300 straight meets without a loss and won every division of the Gloucester County Championships. In 1971 He joined with GCC coach Chuck Williamson to start the Gloucester Junior Wrestling League. A former President of the Paulsboro Wrestling Association,he helped for Junior Leagues in Salem and Camden Counties. Tony also volunteered from 1980-84 as a Paulsboro Middle School Coach. A 1985 inductee into the South Jersey Hall of Fame,Paulsboro Hall of Fame and Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame he was selected to the Courier Post's All- Century Wrestling Team.
