Jack Welch - Moorestown

Jack graduated in 1953 from Otto Twp.HS in Pennsylvania and proceeded to Lock Haven where he would major in Physical Education & English. Jack would move to NJ where he would start the wrestling program at Williamstown HS . His 32-21-2 record in five years of Varsity competition would include a pair of conference championships and an 11-0-1 season in 1965. He would then take on the task of starting a program at Moorestown and the Quakers would become one of the most respected teams in Burlington County. The Quakers would go 228-112-3 under Welch's helm including two district and three county championships and the 1975 team would go 18-0. On the individual level he would coach 59 District and 11 Region Champions while having five wrestlers medal at the States. Jack's 27 year career would produce a record of 260-135-5 with only three losing seasons. Earning his administrative degree at Glassboro State Coach Welch would move into vice-principal positions at Moorestown and Southern Regional. Jack served as the secretary of the South Jersey Officials & Coaches Assn. for 11 years and was selected Burlington County and Region 8 Coach of the Year in 1975. He was inducted into the Williamstown and South Jersey Wrestling Halls of Fame and recieved the Outstanding Achievement Award from Moorestown. Jack Welch passed away in 2007 leaving his fiance Carol Olsen,former wife Barbara and four children,Marty,Shari,Sandi and Chris.

Herbert H.Palmer - NJWOA

Herb graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional HS and earned his Bachelor degree from Maryville College in 1951 and Masters degree from Rutgers in 1954. His career in education would begin in 1954 at Boonton HS where he would coach football & baseball.In 1955 he would come home to Dayton Regional where he would coach football,wrestling and golf.In 1974 he would take on the vice-principal and Athletic Director position at Hanover Park. His wrestling teams at Dayton would win 100 matches while crowning 45 district & region champions including State Finalist Ron Lucariello.Herb was a member of both the New Jersey and the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Officials Associations working matches on every level of the sport during his 25 years as an official. Palmer served as President of the Union-Essex Wrestling Officials chapter and President of the NJWOA. Herb served on the NJSIAA Wrestling Committee from 1982-89 and is in the Region 3 Wrestling Hall of Fame. In 1993 Herb Palmer recieved the Richard C.Mirshak Award for excellance in officiating from the NJWOA. In 1973 Herb was inducted into Maryville College Hall of Fame. Herb Palmer passed away in 1994 leaving his wife of 42 years,Mary and two children Herb Jr. and Betsy
